Volunteers are a critical component of our success.  Each year, they provide more than 2,000 service hours to Safe Avenues.  Whether it’s helping answer the crisis line, administrative assistance, or special event help, we appreciate each and every volunteer for their time and unique talents. 

Safe Avenues offers a variety of one-time and long-term volunteer opportunities for those looking to make a difference.  The list below provides a very brief description of some of the volunteer opportunites that are available within our agency.  To apply for one of these positions, please complete the volunteer application.

Driver:  Provide transportation to clients for appointments.

Furniture Mover:  Assist in the pick-up and delivery of furniture for clients. 

Handyman's Helper:  Assist with light carpentry and painting needs to maintain agency assets. 

Kitchen Organizer:  Clean and organize kitchen cabinets and provide occasional cleaning of kitchen appliances (i.e. refrigerators and freezers)

Volunteers are carefully screened and trained.  The screening process for volunteers does include a criminal background check, interview, and orientation.
